Types of Bathroom Faucets
The world of bathroom hardware and accessories has become a major player in the design industry. There are now so many choices in bathroom accessories, hardware, sinks, faucets, bathtubs, and everything in between. Because there are so many types of faucets out there, for example, homeowner can often get overwhelmed; not knowing what type of faucet to choose for their bathroom space. We can take a brief moment to look at some of the more common types of bathroom faucets and how you can incorporate them into your space. The first and most important rule in choosing a bathroom faucet, however, isn’t how well it coordinates with the color on your wall. Ultimately choose a type of bathroom faucet that makes you happy.
The two most common types of bathroom faucets and bathroom styles in general, are modern and traditional. Modern can include contemporary, retro-modern, mod, and art deco. Traditional can be European, French inspired, country, and southwestern. This being said, most all types of bathroom faucets can be incorporated into any design, if the client so chooses.
Traditional types of bathroom faucets would be those that you may find in an 18th century Victorian bed and breakfast. They might sit on top of a period inspired pedestal sink. In country bathrooms you may find faucets that come straight out of the wall, like you might find in an old fashioned washroom of a prairie farm house.
A modern space will use other types of bathroom faucets. Usually these will be very unique looking, and sometimes may not even resemble a faucet at all. We have seen some that are more like a piece of art. Modern design uses various forms of art in unusual places, which works well with these sorts of faucets. Modern or contemporary faucets often reflect straight lines and sleek, designer finishes. We see several in polished chrome and rubbed stainless steel.
The best way to choose the right type of faucet is to know your bathroom style, and have a basic understanding of your sink. You will need to know (if choosing and installing yourself) what size holes are required, how many holes, and if the connections worth with industry standard plumbing sizes. As we mentioned before, the most important thing to consider when choosing your new faucet is to make sure you choose one that suits you. The best type of bathroom faucet for you is the one that makes you happy.
